Works on Chromecast with Google TV, TCL Google TV, Sony Bravia XR, Hisense, and any other Google TV device. The TV version is not on the Play Store — follow the simple APK sideload steps below.
Go to Settings → System → About. Find Build number and press the OK/Select button on it 7 times in a row. After the 7th press, a message appears confirming developer options are now unlocked.
Go to Settings → System → Developer options and enable Install unknown apps. Select the app you'll use to install the APK (a file manager or browser) and toggle it on.
Choose one of these two options:
Option A — Downloader app: Open Google Play on your TV and install Downloader by AFTVnews. Launch it, enter code 9385707, and tap Go — it opens the download page. Tap Download Now to get the latest APK.
Option B — USB drive: Download the APK on your computer and copy it to a USB drive. Plug the drive into your TV, then open a file manager (e.g., FX File Explorer from Google Play) to locate the APK.
When Downloader finishes downloading, or once you've located the APK file via your file manager, select it with your remote and tap Install. Accept the permissions screen. Installation takes a few seconds.
Open YTV Player Pro from your app list. Navigate with the D-pad, press OK to select. Tap the + button, enter a name and your stream URL (M3U, M3U8, TS, or direct video link), then press Save. Playback begins immediately.
YTV Player Pro runs on all Google TV devices via APK sideload. The same phone APK is fully compatible.
