Full step-by-step walkthrough for installing YTV Player Pro on any Amazon Fire TV device using the Downloader app. No computer or USB drive required — just your remote.
Follow these steps in order. The whole process takes about 5 minutes on a stable internet connection. You'll only need to do this once.
From the Fire TV home screen, scroll to the top and select the gear icon (Settings) in the top navigation bar. You can also press and hold the Home button on your Alexa Voice Remote to access a quick settings menu.
Inside Settings, scroll right and select My Fire TV (sometimes labeled Device on older firmware). Then select Developer Options from the list.
If Developer Options isn't visible, tap the About option and then rapidly click on your Fire TV's serial number 7 times. This unlocks developer options on some firmware versions.
In Developer Options, find Apps from Unknown Sources (it may also appear as "Install Unknown Apps"). Toggle it ON, or if you see a list of apps, find Downloader and allow it specifically.
Also enable ADB Debugging while you're here — it won't affect normal use and makes troubleshooting easier later if needed.
Go back to the Fire TV home screen and use the search function (magnifying glass or Alexa button) to search for "Downloader". Select Downloader by AFTVnews — it has an orange icon.
Select Get or Download to install it. It's completely free. If it doesn't appear in search results, try searching "AFTVnews" instead.
Launch the Downloader app. You'll land on the home screen with a URL/code input box at the top. Select that input field using your remote's direction pad and center button.
Type the 7-digit code: 9385707 — or enter the URL aftv.news/9385707 if you prefer typing the full address.
Press Go. Downloader will open the YTV Player Pro download page. On that page, tap Download Now to start downloading the latest APK version.
Once the download finishes (usually takes 20–40 seconds), a file installation screen appears. Select Install and wait for the process to complete. Do not press the back button during installation.
When it shows "App installed", tap Open to launch YTV Player Pro immediately, or Done to find it later in your apps library.
When YTV Player Pro opens, you'll see a welcome screen with an input form. Tap the + button or the title field to add a new link.
Enter a descriptive name (e.g., "My Sports Stream") and paste your stream URL into the URL field. The User Agent field is optional — only fill it in if your stream source requires a specific one.
Tap Save — the built-in player launches immediately and begins playing your stream. The link is saved to your list for future use.
YTV Player Pro installs and runs on every current Fire TV device. The same Downloader code works for all of them.

This is a standard warning for sideloaded apps. Tap "Install anyway" — YTV Player Pro is safe and does not contain malware. The package name is com.ytv.pronew.
Check your internet connection first. If the code doesn't work, try entering the full URL: aftv.news/9385707. Make sure you're on a stable Wi-Fi network. Once the page loads, tap Download Now to get the APK.
Go to Settings → My Fire TV → About, then click the serial number 7 times rapidly. This unlocks Developer Options on most Fire TV firmware versions.
Restart your Fire TV (hold the Select + Play buttons for 5 seconds) and try again. If the app still won't launch, uninstall and reinstall using the same code.
This is usually a network issue, not an app issue. Check that your Fire TV has a strong Wi-Fi signal (5 GHz recommended for HD/4K streams). Also verify the stream URL is active.
Clear storage by going to Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications and uninstalling apps you don't use. Then retry the installation.
